Seminar marketing to educators
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s Midwest Visual aggressively pursued AV and computer
business in the educational arena.
When Don joined the company in 1979, they had
just signed on as a dealer for the Apple II computer, and this business grew until
it provided about half of the company's profits. Seminar marketing was responsible
for a large part of this growth, and they offered everything from computer classes
for credit to single and multi-day promotional events.
Working with other Midwest Visual managers, Don organized nearly all of these
events and handled their promotion.
The EdTech
Conferences
Among these events was a long series of workshops to the Chicago Public Schools.
