The Tournament of Champions
In 1992 Midwest Visual began a traveling roadshow modeled after the Infocomm Shootout,
where customers could come to a single location and compare a large number of
projection systems.
Don did the basic planning and promotion for these
shows, finding hotels, lining up exhibitors, handling all promotion, budget and
attendance matters: everything but the design and setup of the signal distribution
system they used. By the time he left Midwest in 1996, they were
offering the sessions in seven locations, each with the shootout and two seminars.Total
attendence ran close to 1,000 people.
The 1992
invitation We
used a die-cut mailer with tear-off reply card to attract the eye. Click for a

1995 invitation
An eye-catching mailer was even more critical as these shows became routine. If
you compare these mailers, you can see an evolution in Don's work.
