A Compelling Case
CREATING A VIDEO CASE HISTORY FOR CRESTRON
"The hardest part of any production is coming up with the first shot....something that establishes what you're going to talk about and grabs viewers' interest." - Videographer Wendy Ellis
A video case history can be a powerful statement about the work you do, but you need to approach the production carefully. This month, I thought it might be helpful to look at a video we finished recently for Crestron, outlining the steps we took to illustrate the production process.
To make this video work, we carefully defined our message, prepared interview questions based on our knowledge of the installation, warmed up our subjects to put them at ease, listened to make sure we were getting statements we could use, shot plenty of cover video or B-roll, and chose our best pieces and edited them into an effective whole.
